People Are Ingrates

| | Comments (1)
By "people", I'm referring to me, but you all do it too. Don't try to deny it.

Specifically, what I'm talking about today is the weather. I don't know how things were in your part of the world, but here in the three-one-fo, it was awesome beyond belief. The high on Saturday was 55, and the high on Sunday was an unbelievable 71.

However, what was less noted was that the high on Friday was 37, and the high today (Monday) is 41.

Everyone knows about that one week in, say, March were it's 68 all week, and once Friday night comes around, the rain clouds roll in, and it's rainy and 35 all weekend. Then, Monday morning, the clouds part, and it's sunny and 68 again. And you think, "How come it always rains on the weekend? Why couldn't it have been raining and miserable on Wednesday and Thursday but then it's back to sunny for the weekend?"

Well, sometimes it does that. Sometimes the good weather happens at exactly the right time. Like this weekend.

My point here, as anyone who noted the subject will be able to figure out, is that people are ingrates. That's the real Murphy's Law. Not that things will always go wrong, but that when they do, people will complain -- loudly -- about it. Whereas when things to right, it gets ignored completely.

So, give thanks. That's what I'm saying.

There's a holiday for "Giving Thanks." It happens every November. As long as you eat turkey on that day, you're entitled to complain--loudly--for the rest of the year.

Come to think of it, I heard a lot of complaining and not much thanking on that day too. Nevermind.
